quality hotel in great location

If you divide all costs in london by 2 to allow for the fallen US dollar, then you can start making comparisons of size, quality, etc, to manhattan, boston, etc. in the US. There is a Sainsbury supermarket across the street and several nearby coffee shops, so you can easily save money on breakfast and lunch. That will allow you to save up for dinner in a high-end restaurant, which can easily set you back $80 per person. We liked the Guinea Grill (sp?) for english food.

A great spot in the heart of Mayfair

Nice find just up from the hustle and bustle of Picadilly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Did not eat at any of the restaurants nor use the exercise facilities. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others.

Great Location

The Green Park Underground station is just round the corner (1 min walk) and is a strategic stop for a number of tourist attractions. Also, there are M&S and Sainsburys shops within the 1 block radius, which is great for stocking up on cheap lunches while on the move. Lastly, a taxi from Mayfair to Heathrow is cheaper than the Heathrow express, if there are more than 2 travellers: just ask the concierge to negotiate a fixed rate.

The rooms were big and really clean and contemporary. I would definitely go back to the May Fair as my favorite hotel in London.

Great Hotel For American Tourists

As a family of three traveling together (67 year old female with my adult daughter and my 17 year old granddaughter), we found the May Fair Hotel was just what we needed. Situated on one side of Green Park with a Tube station just a block or two away, the hotel is conveniently located for visiting central London sites. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the complimentary use of the hotel's "Business Center" room where we could use the computers to email home. The area felt safe, and sidewalk cafes and a food market were located very nearby, as well as a Starbucks for coffee and breakfast, which delighted my daughter. Our only minor complaint was that the bathroom lacked any kind of counter space for the many toiletries and cosmetics of three American women, but it was a large, modern bath with a wonderful shower so we managed fine. I would certainly recommend this hotel to other American tourists.
