Helpful interested staff. Apartment spacious, clean, well appointed. Only downside is if facing the road, (despite being directly across from National Portrait Gallery - beautiful building!) it can be very noisy throughout the night. Will certainly stay again.

Thei was a serviced 2 bed apartment for the price of a hotel that was ideally located within 5 minutes of Princess St and 10 minutes walk of the Edinburgh Waverley station. The accomodation consisted of 2 double bedrooms, one en-suite with a separate shower room, a lounge / dining/ kitchen area plus Virgin TV package. Excellent for weekend breaks - especially if 2 couples are looking to share accomodation.

Best part of the stay? A lot of space, which was really nice. Worst part of the stay? The bed was completely awful. We stayed for six nights and didn't get one night of rest. The bed is large, but it's two sagging beds pushed together with an enormous hump in the middle. Parking was also a nightmare and we ended up paying about 50 GBP ($100 USD) extra because we were not given proper instructions on where to park.

The apartment was clean and so well equipped it was very much a home away from home! It was located within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. We had an apartment overlooking the garden, which was beautiful and well tended to. The view from the apartment was wonderful, looking right into the distant. I would highly recommend these apartments, and will certainly return there when next in Edinburgh!

I am really glad that I chose to stay here rather than the 5* hotel down the road. The apartment was large and very comfortable. The position of the hotel was very central, but surprisingly quiet. The staff were very helpful and free muffins and coffee were available for breakfast and a complimentary glass of wine in the evening. DVDs and CDs were available for rent free of charge and all rooms had sky TV and a DVD player. I was very impressed with this hotel. My mother who is usually difficult to please enjoyed her stay and stated she would stay here again. An extra bonus is that you get use of the Spa facilities at the 5* hotel down the road.

The Museum of Childhood isn't really suitable for really young children, as my toddler was upset that he couldn't actually play with many of the toys, they were just for looking at. Also all of the toilets were up or down stairs, the disabled toilets are accessible by lift but you have to ask a guide to call the lift which is a nuisance, as there were only two guides for the whole museum. I thought that the place was spooky and a guide told me that it used to be a morgue.
